Review: Downtown Chicken Shawarma

I know I said I had done my last Abuja Shawarma review for this year but I keep getting interesting recommendations, and well I like food. Downtown Restaurant is a cosy clean place. Located on Gana Street, Maitama, it’s popular and easy to find using Google Maps (if you don’t already use it, I really…

Saturday Out Grocery Shopping

You know how you ĺook at someone you absolutely love and see all the good things you want to do to them? Yeah, just looking at these tomatoes I had that Halo moment. I could see future, bright with a salad and three different kinds of stew!

Review: Dunes Grill & Burger Bar Chicken Shawarma

Following my previous posts hunting down the best Shawarma in Abuja I decide to try Dunes Grill & Burger Bar Chicken Shawarma while at the Waffle Stop. Thing is, they seem to share the same sitting area and I was served both menus. On spotting Shawarama at the bottom left corner of the page, I decided to take one for the team.

Review: Waffle Spot, Dunes Center – Maitama

Oh, I’m quite excited to tell you about this one. I had the heartiest breakfast in the most serene environment, prepared and served by courteous and friendly staff. I think it is a great place for a family breakfast and I’m sure your kids would enjoy the choice of ice-cream along with breakfast, and find the colourful fresh fruits a delight.

Food: Poached Eggs and How to Make Yours

For most of us in Nigeria, we prefer our eggs hard-boiled, fried or stewed, and like our meat, we like them very well done. Lagos for me is a lot like that loud unattractive lover you can’t stand to be around too long, but are enamoured with regardless. The hustle and bustle in this concrete jungle is characterised by the unpleasant smell of what I like to think is the sea, crowds of people at bus-stops, and the constant riotous noise; a mix of blaring horns and shrilling voices. But, it’s Lagos, my place of love.

Review: Drumstix Wuse 2, Abuja

In my opinion, Drumstix Shawarma is great value for money, the location and outdoor sitting area is perfect for people-watching and getting a feel of the city, and the convenience associated with getting it is priceless.

Review: Sahad Shawarma Abuja

Now, they say if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all. So I don’t know how to talk about this one. To begin with, I’m not a germophobe but I developed hygiene concerns when I saw him take the shawarma of the small grill with his fingers, which he had just used to touch is phone while taking a call. Phones are some of the dirtiest object around.

Review: Coco Ribbon Doughnuts

Sequel to my previous reviews, and in my quest for the best doughnut in Abuja, let me present: Coco Ribbon Doughnuts! Located in Wuse 2, Coco Ribbon Doughnuts are high-end and quite frankly, the most expensive doughnuts I’ve had in my life, costing twice the price of the others.

Review: Doughnuts from the Donut Factory

After every review, I feel like I gain a pound. But I’m enjoying myself too much to care, and I can’t wait to tell you about the doughnuts from the Donut Factory. The Donut Factory is located in Jabi, Abuja and serves some of the best doughnuts in this city!
