It’s the middle of the year and I’m big on self-evaluation, so let’s take the weekend to get some perspective and appraise. How are those New-Year resolutions panning out?
- Did you get the new job?
- Have you got that promotion?
- Lost any weight?
- Found love?
- Paid off your debts aka Gbese?
- Improved your personal relationships?
- Quit a bad habit?
Personally, it’s been a mishmash. I’ve struggled to lose a few pounds. I lost some but I’m afraid I might be eating it all back during this Summer Holiday. Yes, I’ve done a bit of travelling this year and I’m very happy about that. Finally, in preparation for my PhD, I’m about to take my exam on Qualitative Research (so wish me luck). If you haven’t been to Coursera, check out this post on MOOCs and sign up today. There’s always time to learn something new.
On the other hand, I don’t feel as successful as I would like to be. I haven’t been able to increase this blog’s following. I’ve been busy, distracted and very tired in the past months, So I’ve failed to post regularly. I’ve fallen off my Bible in A Year Series and only God can help me there. Worse, I lost my phone. got me super stressed out and genuinely fell sick but that’s a story for another day.
But Roy T. Bennett says:
“Be grateful for what you already have while you pursue your goals. If you aren’t grateful for what you already have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.”
― The Light in the Heart.
So, I’m thankful we’ve still got 6 months to make 2017 count! As soon as I’m home, I will get back to my routine of reading, writing and reviewing. I am working on a number of reviews (which might include doughnuts. lol) and some really cool photography I can’t wait to share.
Now tell me. How has your 2017 been?
