Driving to work this morning and late as usual, I turned on the radio to find Kachi of Kiss FM suggesting we take on the 14 days #NoMakeUp Challenge and go bare-faced for Valentine’s Day. This caught my attention because I took the no make-up challenge for a month late last year but I didn’t come round to telling you all about it.
Cosmetics have advanced significantly in recent years, boasting new beauty products that last longer, with a myriad of accompanying innovative application techniques, all aimed at improving what we look like. There’s no shortage of before and after pictures of happy clients by Nigerian make-up artists on Instagram, spotting dramatic transformations, particularly for weddings and other formal events.
Following my #NoMakeUp Challenge, it’s been 22 days without an ounce of makeup, no powder and accordingly, no eyebrows. So I think it’s fitting to tell you a bit about me and make up.
As a child, I loved to draw and paint. Before I could write, I could draw, connecting all the little bumps on our bedroom wall with pencil lines. It came naturally to me.
