Following the title, I came across this informal blog post theme and loved the idea of having a chit-chat and catching up with my readers on the little things in my life that don’t necessarily make it into my other blog posts. However, a huge concern was the fact that “having coffee” or tea as a social experience is not part of our Nigerian culture.
I had a few conversations with family and friends in the UK and we all came to the conclusion that going out for coffee or tea isn’t really a national thing, and neither do we have a binary equivalent. I think it’s got to do with our weather. Most coffee and tea drinking cultures are cold and could use the warmth. We aren’t. A few cultures up north enjoy tea, hardly coffee.
So, ice-cream perhaps?
If we were having ice-cream, we’d be at Sheraton pool side, watching people splash. I’d sneak out a pint of Häagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheese cake from my bag. It’s delicious beyond words and I particularly like how every tub is full to the brim. I’d reluctantly offer you one spoon because I’d expect you’d have got yours, I’m not about to pretend to want to share all of it with you.😋

It’s our first meet-up so we’d talk about mundane stuff like the weather and how wonderful it is that the rains are already here.🌧🌦 The Harmattan season seemed to last forever. It’s the beginning of the end of the first quarter of the year so we’d also talk about how fast the year is speeding by.
My plans for this blog haven’t all penned out, especially launching the store. I just haven’t found the right products to stock it with, nor do I have the funds. The “free ads” spaces haven’t gone as well as I hoped either. I’ve got just one seller. On the bright side, I’ve managed to keep a strict posting schedule, publishing twice a week and I think it’s paying off. Traffic has been growing steadily and we are already at 20,000 views in just two months, one-third of last year’s number!🙌🙌
If we were having ice-cream, I will keep the conversation about work and tell you I’m really enjoying my photography📷 business and I think you should check it out here. It’s way more profitable than blogging right now and I hope to break-even by November of this year. I’m looking forward to a future where this business can fund this blog; pay hosting fees and review outings, at least till the blog can take care of its self. Perhaps in 2019? Till then, I have to work really hard shooting, editing, uploading and submitting as many sale-able images as often as I can.📸
If we were having ice-cream, I’ll tell you I’ve got wanderlust and can’t wait to travel and visit a new city this year. I’ve been praying to see China, but for now, Manchester and London in April will have to suffice. I think I figured out how to use the British rail system during my last trip Discovering Great Britain. I was exhausted running from one platform to another and was so scared I’d get on the wrong train and be lost. 😆. But that’s in the past, I hope to be up and about if the weather is good. As always, I’ll take a tonne of pictures and certainly tell you all about it.
If we were having ice-cream, I’m sure my tub would be almost empty by now and I’d have enjoyed this time with you. Then I’d realise I’ve been rambling about myself all this time and be quite embarrassed and itching to hear about you.🤗
If we were having ice-cream, let me know what you’d say or do in the comments!
As always, thank you for reading!

I love this post. I should try something like this. I’m a tea lover and I don’t care about the weather here hot or not. 20,000 views😳 wow I’m jealous, well done. It seems like you have everything panned out so I’m sure your shop will do great too. Also, it’s okay to try different things out on your blog 😃.
