Turning 30 is a milestone every woman has an opinion about, most of which aren’t pleasant. I remember coming home on my 30th birthday feeling quite shocked about how good 30 felt. I had crowned the day by going Salsa dancing in Victoria Island and all that spinning and twirling had me dizzy with excitement about life.

Colouring Me Beautiful

Following my #NoMakeUp Challenge, it’s been 22 days without an ounce of makeup, no powder and accordingly, no eyebrows. So I think it’s fitting to tell you a bit about me and make up.
As a child, I loved to draw and paint. Before I could write, I could draw, connecting all the little bumps on our bedroom wall with pencil lines. It came naturally to me.

Why Travelling is Good for You

It is always fun to travel. My earliest memory of traveling is staring out at the trees speeding past on either side of the endless stretch of road, and then drifting in and out of sleep in the backseat of my dad’s Peugeot 504. This year, I’ve been blessed to travel often, both locally and abroad, and even now, the steady hum of the engine, plane or car, still sends me to sleep.

I haven’t discussed my relationship with make-up with you, but you should know that it’s my one true love. I’ve worn make-up at least 5 days a week for the past 10 years. I pat, blend, bake and beat this face flawlessly, and my highlight game is for the gods. But, absence makes the heart grow fonder so I’m taking a break.
