Having been a member of the Toastmasters Club, I like to think that writing and giving toasts are right up my alley. However, putting this together and delivering it proved to be more challenging than I had anticipated. First, my friend drives me crazy half the time and writing this, I realised that I took a lot of her amazing qualities for granted.
Anytime I expressed my happiness and excitement for her there was always someone there to compare our personal lives and tell me to “tap into her blessing” or ask me “So, when is your own?”. It felt like I was supposed to be in some kind of competition or at the very least want to be married because she was getting married.
I know I said I had done my last Abuja Shawarma review for this year but I keep getting interesting recommendations, and well I like food. Downtown Restaurant is a … Continue Reading Review: Downtown Chicken Shawarma

It’s the very first time I’ve been nominated for any blogging award, so I’m pleasantly surprised and quite thankful.
Now I’ve got 8 rolls left, who’s hungry?
You know how you ĺook at someone you absolutely love and see all the good things you want to do to them? Yeah, just looking at these tomatoes I had that Halo moment. I could see future, bright with a salad and three different kinds of stew!
Following my previous posts hunting down the best Shawarma in Abuja I decide to try Dunes Grill & Burger Bar Chicken Shawarma while at the Waffle Stop. Thing is, they seem to share the same sitting area and I was served both menus. On spotting Shawarama at the bottom left corner of the page, I decided to take one for the team.
Oh, I’m quite excited to tell you about this one. I had the heartiest breakfast in the most serene environment, prepared and served by courteous and friendly staff. I think it is a great place for a family breakfast and I’m sure your kids would enjoy the choice of ice-cream along with breakfast, and find the colourful fresh fruits a delight.
Sequel to my previous post on the Asaba Massacre Memorial Day, below are a list of some 374 people, less than half the number of civilians murdered on the 7th of October, 1967.
Exactly 50 years ago today, Saturday, the 7th of October, over a thousand civilians in Asaba, mostly men, were murdered by soldiers of the Nigerian Army. Though on hearing that the war was approaching the town, many indigenes had fled across the Niger, a good number remained because the town was not part of Biafra, not even on the Biafran map. They were Nigerians, many of whom were professionals and civil servants working in Benin before the war.
After 2 weeks and 1,138 pages I’ve come to 2 conclusions; first it is impossible for any director to bring the book to life in its entirety because of its sexually explicit and truly horrifying murder scenes, and second Stephen King is either unimaginably talented or simply disturbed if not possessed by a malevolent spirit.
