Going by its name, I assumed Wakkis was a Nigerian Restaurant serving traditional Nigerian cuisine, since “wakkis” is another word for “food” in Pidgin English. But was I wrong. Turns out it’s an elegant Indian restaurant on Aminu Kano Cresent, Wuse 2, Abuja.

Actionaid Nigeria if you didn’t already know, is a non-profit organisation with international presence, working with the poor ans excluded communities to promote the rights of people living in poverty and they take it seriously.
I’ll be honest and admit that I wasn’t prepared for how beautiful this Okro looked on camera. Zooming in close, my lenses picked up on those tiny delicate hairs on the okro pod, giving so much texture to this simple vegetable. I fell in love with the pentagon shape of the okra slices and the small white seeds. I wish I had a proper micro lens so I could really capture the intricate details of this beautiful vegetable.
